Vytina in Arcadia is exactly a place like that. There, in the “jewel of Mainalo”, as they call it, can be found the “road of love”, and those who have crossed it agree that it is one of the most romantic places in the whole country.

It is a route through maple and plane trees, which is at its best in autumn or winter. The magical landscape makes you feel as if you are a part of a fairytale.

The “road of love” is located on the west side of Vytina, in the so-called Old Village, and it got its name because of the young people of the village, who used to secretly meet there and walk with their future spouses or lovers, due to the austerity of the time.

As for Vytina, they have justly given her the title “jewel”. Built in a verdant area, full of pines, firs and chestnuts, at an altitude of 1,033 meters, in the “arms” of the mountain range Mainalo, Vytina has its own irresistible charm.

It is a traditional and a highly appealing to tourists village of Arcadia, which is believed to have got its name from the word "vythos" (the greek word for “bottom”), because it was originally built on the basin of hills. In ancient times, the goddess Demeter and the stallion Poseidon were worshiped in the area. Ruins of his temple are preserved at the entrance to the village of Magouliana.
