Every Greek has probably seen this object in front of old houses and buildings, next to the entrances or has stumbled over it when he was a child.

It was located in front of all the old houses, was bolted to the ground and its use was very practical for the time. There, people cleaned their shoes and soles from the mud before entering the house. In those years, when the streets of the cities were dirty, this object was necessary.

Technicians tried to create designs that would fit into any house. These objects were used until the 1950s. Now most of them are rusty and only left to remind us of past times.
